The “dog days” of August are upon us, but we continue to catch fish up here in the Brainerd Lakes Area. It’s been a very busy open-water season thus far, and Shelley continues to “book em”! So, if you are looking to get out on the water, we are here for you. We have been fishing a lot of the area lakes, and that’s the beauty of living where we live. I was out with the Hugdahls this morning, and it was a fun trip. They wanted to target bass, and they boated some nice ones. We were casting Z-Man TRD’s on a Lucky Joels mushroom head jig head in 10-17 feet of water on Gull Lake. Walleye fishing on some of the other area lakes has been ok too, but I am already looking forward to the fall “bite” as the fish start pushing off the edges (which they are already starting to do).
