Fish Report 8/13/26

The “dog days” of August are upon us, but we continue to catch fish up here in the Brainerd Lakes Area. It’s been a very busy open-water season thus far, and Shelley continues to “book em”! So, if you are looking to get out on the water, we are here for you. We have been fishing a lot of the area lakes, and that’s the beauty of living where we live. I was out with the Hugdahls this morning, and it was a fun trip. They wanted to target bass, and they boated some nice ones. We were casting Z-Man TRD’s on a Lucky Joels mushroom head jig head in 10-17 feet of water on Gull Lake. Walleye fishing on some of the other area lakes has been ok too, but I am already looking forward to the fall “bite” as the fish start pushing off the edges (which they are already starting to do). I hope you all had a nice weekend! We celebrated the 250th anniversary of our country in Bozeman, MT, by welcoming our 2nd grandchild into this world. Back on the water tomorrow, and it's going to be a scorcher. We are well into our season, and the guides have been doing a lot of trips! Good evening! The water temperature is up into the mid-sixties, and fishing action is picking up. People always ask when the best time to fish is, and I say June and October.
