We are there, Labor Day weekend already! Wow, did this summer go by fast! I guess, on the bright side, hunting season is upon us, and the best fishing of the year is coming, too. I was out this morning with Joanie, Neil, and Elliott. We were up on the Whitefish Chain (north of Brainerd, MN), and we had a really nice morning. I found a school of walleyes right out of the gate and handed Elliott (7) a fishing rod with a 1/4-ounce jig, stinger, and rainbow chub. He dropped it to the bottom, and the kid was hooked up immediately. He is a natural fisherman; if you know, you know. Some people are born with the gift, and he definitely was. We caught walleye, pike, bluegill, and perch. I cleaned them up and sent them back south with a Ziploc bag of fillets. This open-water season has been busy, and I’m thankful that many of you have already booked for the late season and ice fishing season! We are going to move right from the fall fishing into the ice season, so if you’d like to book a trip, please call or text Shelley at 218-839-5598 and get on the calendar!
Enjoy this weekend with your famly and friends and be safe and smart on the water and on the roads!,
Walleyedan
