We have ice! And we still do have snow on the ground here in central Minnesota. But it’s going to get NICE very soon and we will have the boats/toons back on the open water. First thing is first though, gobblers. A week from today is the MN spring turkey opener. Once the turkey itch has been scratched, the open water guiding season will be underway and the calendar is already looking good. Our guides will be ready for another busy open water season, with some some changes in the law. Bass (large and smallmouth) can now be fished (catch and release) year round, this will add a nice little bonus to the spring season, where normally we are only chasing crappies.
